Ashton Gardens

Ashton Gardens is within a 2 minute walk from Stoneleigh.  The gardens offer a relaxing atmosphere for young and old alike.  There is a play area for children, a café, bowling greens, greenhouses with fish pool and beautiful walks around the gardens and lake.  The gardens were given to the town, at the turn of the 20th century for the pleasure of the people by Lord Ashton.

St.Annes pier is also a great place for all the children to play. There are lots of slot machines and at the end of the pier there are some rides but they aren't for adults! It is a great way to spend all those extra coppers you have lying around in your pocket. It is a 5 minute walk away from Stoneleigh along the promenade and it is just a relaxing walk away from Pleasure Island and Surfside. As you walk along the picturesque beach to the pier you will have to stop at the tuck shop and buy one of our famous ice creams .

The Beach

There are miles of safe golden sand and sand dunes which are ideal for the kids to play and the grown-ups to sun-bath.
There is so much space that it is never crowded and, because the beach shelves very slowly, the sea is not deep and soon warms in the summer sun.
Each year there are beach events such as the International kite festival.  Its a fun and relaxing place to spend those sunny summer days. And if you take an evening stroll, watch out for some fantastic sunsets.
